Hey all, with the new MBPs coming without the grounded extension cord out of the box (c'mon apple seriously), you may feel a slight buzz/tingly/electrical feel on the case. This happens with other Mac laptops so its not exclusive to 2016 machines. Its not exactly a problem but it may make the machine uncomfortable to use (I hate it personally). The fix is to use a grounded cord rather than the two prong "duck head" included out of the box.

I'm getting this, it's a really strange sensation. Good to know it's somewhat normal and just a side effect of them being cheap with the extension.

Is this just specific to the new models? I used my 2010 model almost exclusively without the power extension and never noticed anything like this.

this is specific to any aluminium device. Even the iphone from iphone 5 to 7 has this "feeling" when the device is charging

I get this on my 2012 non retina. Feels weird so I use the grounded extension. I have a spare one ready to use with my new MacBook when it arrives.

It usually gets less noticeable if you plug the power brick in the other way around.
