Hi Everyone,
I have a MacBook Pro 13 that I've had for around 4 years or so. It is the '09 version.
Anyway, my wife accidentally spilled some milk from her cereal and I immediately unplugged it and force powered it down. I probably should have opened the case and uplugged the battery, but I didn't think of this.
We let it dry overnight and then I opened the case. There was a small amount of residue on the top card opposite the battery and on the bottom inside case.
I used Radio Shack Electronics Control/Contact Cleaner and Lubricant with Q-Tips to clean off the residue on the board.
Once finished, I powered it on and all seemed to be working well at first, but now the "Brightness UP" Key and the "TWO" Key doesn't work.
If I power it down, is it possible to spray the cleaner down into the button areas and then use canned air to dry it...then leave it overnight to dry completely...will this possibly work or do more damage to it?
I can't afford a new computer, especially a new Mac of any kind thanks to serious medical problems I've dealt with over the past 10+ years. Otherwise, I'd just take it to my closest Authorized Apple Repair Center and let them fix it or just buy a new one.
I hope someone can give me a good answer on this, as I can't seem to find anywhere by searching that says YES or NO to trying it.
Thanks for your help!
