Elgato EyeTv and DirecTV Compatabilty

Does anyone have experience with Elgato's EyeTv and DirecTV. I 'd like to be able to use it to capture some items of my TiVO (ala VCR Mode) and use my iMac as a DVR in my office.

I not entirely sure what Clear QAM channels are on DirecTV. I realize that the EyeTv will not be able to control the DirecTv box for recordings, but can it still capture video from the source ?

Not that I'm aware of unless they have updated it somehow. I purchased the Hybrid USB version back on Oct 08, thought it would be perfect to move shows off my cable box onto my HDD. Didn't work, after reading more about it on some forums it's not possible with that device.

I'd check out the website for Elgato, think there is a FAQ section is where I found some of the answers.
