elgato hybrid antenna and cable?

hi all,

i have the elgato hybrid attached to my mini and dell 24". works really well.

i subscribe to normal cable (no hd, no digital) and I connected an antenna to receive OTA HD, which works fairly well.

however, i can only seem to have one source attached at a time. I bought a simply cable splitter at radioshack. OTA continues fine, but horrible interference appears on the cable reception.

Any ideas?

If you use multiple sources, then you need multiple inputs. Your cable provider uses all of the same channels as OTA. If you mix them like you are doing, then you can expect interference. That is exactly what you are getting.
