Elgato Turbo.264 - so slow?

I bought the Elgato Turbo.264 because I actually thought it was gonna be TURBO.

It takes 29 hours to convert a movie from MKV to the Apple TV format.
How is that possible?


Has it got something to do with the fact that I'm hardcoding subtitles into the movie as well?

If you have an Intel Mac then Turbo.264 won't help speed it up too much.

I don't know what MKV means but the movie file might be HD and that takes awhile..
