Eliminate a partition Hard Drive

I have a question about an external hard drive. I'm trying to figure out how to eliminate a partition from it (I used to use it to install old Mac OS X software but I don't need it anymore). Could anyone help me out?

Disk Utility will let you reformat the drive using 1 partition. Is there something more I missed?

How many partitions are on there now? It sounds like you have two and want to remove one and expand the remaining one into the empty space maybe?
