Eliminate Contact group

My wife's iPhone has 3 Contact groups: All Contacts, On My iPhone, and Yahoo. She syncs her Contacts with her Yahoo mail account. She accidentally adds contacts to her On My iPhone group, and these don't sync to Yahoo. is there any way to delete the On My iPhone group? Failing that, is there any way to wipe out all the contacts in that group?
