Elsewhere, Macbooks start trickling in...

Hi,
I was just at my local Apple-friendly store here in Monterey, CA (that is, not Apple Store). It appears the Macbook stock is trickling in, enough to start fulfilling pre-orders. I just saw a guy picked up his pre-ordered black Macbook. They say they will only have stock for general sale and on display from Wednesday.

I wonder if it's the same elsewhere?

More importantly, has Amazon start shipping pre-orders? If it is, then it's time .

I went to CompUSA and an Apple third-party store today. Both were out of the base models and only had the black ones.

I'm holding out for a base model because, well, that's all I can afford.

Both stores were surprised to have even a dozen or so this early in the release.
