I found an eMac for $45 on craigslist. It looks like it's in good condition and for that price, seems like a pretty good deal.

What do y'all think? I have a MacBook that would be my primary Mac, but having one around to play with would be neat, along with having a bit of history.

Anything I should look for? I kind of would like to have a G4 that uses the Apple Pro Speakers, just so I can buy some and use them since they're kind of rare and stuff.

eMacs are great computers, as long as you get one that doesn't have bad capacitors. They cannot use the Apple Pro speakers.

emacs are so slow

I would at least make sure its usb 2.0 so you could use it as a video or music server

I have a 1ghz model at home and the display no longer works. Got me through college though. But VERY slow compared to any recent machines

There's an iMac G4 for $175. I could get that for the speakers. I don't have the speakers yet, but I saw them on craigslist for $35 I think.

And I wouldn't be using the eMac for real work, just to goof around with.

I need to start scheduling myself to work on pay days...
