My Energy Saver settings are indicated in the three screenshots. The computer never shuts down and does not sleep when idle. Instead it stays on wasting electricity. Any ideas?

Mine won't go to sleep if I am doing some processing. It also will not go to sleep if Toast (5.2.3) has a disk ready, click eject box open.

Are you running anything out of the ordinary either as a Mac app or in terminal?

The shutdown on schedule thing is wierder though. Is there any sign of a shutdown trying to happen?

Usually every account is logged out and so nothing is running except that login window by the time it hits midnight.

Same problem on my PowerMac - it happens when I plug in a PCI card. Strangely enough, it takes a few weeks after I unplug the bad card before it goes back to normal sleep patterns. Weird.

No PCI card possiblites on the eMac, so I guess I am just rambling.
