Email Addresses not Auto Listing When I type a Letter of a Name

Weird issue I am having. On my wifes iphone I can go into a new email, start typing a email address and it autofills or lists people that I could be typing. On my phone it doesnt do that. I have compared all of our settings, cant figure it out. Anyone else seen this?? Its annoying because I use this feature a lot...(btw I am using Gmail IMap and the same with her phone too).
