email composing problem

I'm using iphone 6, 8.1.2. Sometimes -- but only somtimes -- when I reply to emails, the text I'm composing starts disappearing off the side of the screen and I can't see everything I've written. Other times this does not happen. (I use a very large font/text size, if it matters.) I can detect no pattern to when this happens.

Anyone know what's going on?

Can't say what the actual cause is but it's dependent on the formatting of the email you received.

So it's out of my control, or is there some way to control the format that comes in?

Converting the format of emails coming in would screw up a lot of incoming emails, such as the HTML formatted kind.

You could always use the "return" like a typewriter. That is within your control.

I guess so. Hard to know which emails will need it though. Strange problem… But thanks for your input.
