Email from Apple - iPhone Activation

I just received an email from Apple saying, "Congratulations! Your iPhone activation has been completed, and your phone number with Verizon Wireless is XXXX..."
I'm assuming this is just Apple's way of telling me they have communicated with Verizon and the phone is good to go when it gets to me but I wanted to make sure.

Any ideas?

I thought that only occurs when you actually activate it yourself.

Went ahead and called support and they confirmed it was the initial activation. Scared me for a second there.
