I just updated from iOS 10.whatever to 11.0.2.
It seems that email is constantly being fetched in the background and notifying me of new mail.
I don't want this. I'd rather it only fetch when I open the mail app (I don't use my phone for mail primarily). The mail app is usually "off" (as in not even in the background).
I've turned off the notification sound, but it'll still vibrate when (i assume) mail arrives.
I'll note I'm I've only witnessed this behavior when the phone is hooked to a charging cable. I don't know if that's something, or just a coincidience.
Can I stop the email from fetching all the time? Or at the least, get rid of the vibration?
EDIT: Writing the above actually crystalized the problem in my mind, and I was able to look with fresh eyes and found the vibration setting AND that fetch was set to "automatic" which indeed is a constant fetch when plugged in and on power.
SO, I'm really just left with the question if "Mannual" fetch is "when program is open".
