Email message text now unreadable on iPhone 6 using iOS10

Hi all, hope you can help, this is my first post.

I have just updated my iPhone 6 to the latest OS and suddenly my email messages are impossible to read.

Previously my messages adjusted themselves to the size of my screen so maybe six or seven words would appear on each line, now one line comprises around 30 words making the text tiny. I have to zoom in but then have to scroll to read the full line making it time consuming and, well, unusable.

Is there a setting I need to adjust to correct this?

Have you restarted since the update? I would try that first
