Email not always coming to my iphone

I had multiple email accounts on my iPHONE. When I would receive an email it would show up on my mail on my iMAC, but it would take sometime to get to my iPHONE like almost half hour. This I have done using manually push for my email and still nothing. I deleted my accounts and decided to use my gamil acccount with all other accounts forwarded to my gmail still the same thing.
Can some one help out with the lagging email!
