I am using the apple mail app on High Sierra but am experiencing problems with lost emails from a sender using gmail. The app is putting the incoming emails into the junk folder each time. I move the email to the inbox however when i go back to using the app next time the inbox does not show that email. When checking my gmail account it is lost also. Any suggestions on how to fix this. Is there a setting that i can tick etc to get this sender back as the emails are important. All replies much appreciated.

Check Mail.app’s preferences to see if you have junk mail processing turned off. I do, but still occasionally an email will be put into the junk folder (wish I knew why). However, I can move the email into my inbox and it will stay there.

I’m not sure why yours would disappear from the inbox. Perhaps you have a rule set? Again, check for any rules you might have set in preferences.
