So this tends to happen a lot where I open an email that's full of images and it takes a few times of opening it for the Mail app to mark it as read and remove the unread badge. But earlier I got an email and cannot make the badge go away. I've opened the email several times and allowed the images to load and also restarted my phone. iPhone 5 running latest iOS 7. Email is in my gmail. Any ideas?

Happens to me to... Wait for a few minutes .. And re load.. Should go,. Or else turn off mail and toggle it on after a minute or so .. Should go

Do you have access to another device that you could read the email on?

What do you mean? I have no problem opening the email on any device. The issue is that my iPhone for some reason hasn't fully marked it as read. The red badge hasn't gone away. This doesn't seem to be a problem on my iPad or in Mail on my Macs.

Never mind I found the unread email when I looked at my iPad. I wonder why some emails don't get marked as read after you open them.

Yeah, I was wondering if using another device would help you get rid of the badge. I have no idea why it happens, but usually viewing the email on another device triggers it as "read" on the problematic device.

This is a recurring bug for years and years and years that Apple can't seem to squish for some fundamental reason.
