I just upgraded both my Macs to Mojave the other day (won't go near Catalina) and am now wondering why each has been asking for my gmail email account passwords for Safari. I have my email accounts setup in the internet accounts section of System Preferences, but on a couple of occasions I got notifications that I need to enter my email passwords for Safari or something. I entered the passwords but am wondering what that did and why I had to do it. I don't even like to use Safari and much prefer Chrome or Firefox anyway.

What's going on here?

Does no one know? I have been asked twice, once on each computer to give my email passwords. It says something like Safari needs your email password. Is this maybe so that I can use email in Safari without having to use the Apple mail program?
It's just that I have never been asked for this with prior versions of OSx and am just wondering what's going on.
Anyone?

Do you have some extension? or you use safari to auto-save your pass? Normally that is happened. as I use Mojave without such issue.

I don't use Safari, I use either Chrome or Firefox. But the day I installed Mojave, I got notifications telling me that Safari needed my email passwords. I am just wondering why. I have somewhat concluded that since Safari has an option to check email, this is why it needed my passwords. Am I correct?
