Email/SMS Contact Information

Does anyone know whether it is possible to put someone's contact information (phone, email, etc) in an email or SMS message?

Or if there is some app that will do this?

Or do I have to write down someone's number, go into Email/SMS, and then type it in?

The latter would be rather dull.

If you can email them a vCard, they can click it and it will add that person to their contacts.
