Email sound notifications still not working?

Is this working for anyone else? I’m on 18.4.1. I haven’t seen any comments in the beta threads either.

They only work on my watch. When my watch is turned off, they don’t work on my phone or iPad. I installed 18.4.1 on Saturday and have had nothing but frustration with the notifications since then. I was hoping that things would improve after the “ update finishing in background” message disappeared (which finally happened today), but no luck. I’ve never had this happen with any update. I’ve tried everything I can think of.

I had the same issue since 18.4.1

I deleted the Mail app and then reinstalled it from the App Store, re-activated each of my mail accounts and then checked each of the account notification settings and all fixed. Still working after several days!

I tried that but sadly it hasn’t worked for me. I have also tried hard resets, erasing all data, signing in and out of iCloud (while cursing the Stolen Device Protection 1-hr delay that can’t detect my home as a familiar location 🤬), toggling various things on and off, basically every tip I can scrounge up. I’m just going to put the problem aside for awhile and watch a movie or three.

Same here. Verified all my settings, but sound notifications were not working. I came across the tip of deleting/reinstalling the Mail app on Reddit and that worked -- or at least it's been working for three days now. Minor pain since I have six email accounts, but cautiously optimistic....
