Emailing shared pics, phone rang, email DISAPPEARED!

iPhone 3GS, IOS 05

I'd picked 3 pics and hit 'share'
I was at the end of a long email important email.
My phone rang, and when the caller hung up, the email was nowhere to be found!!!!

I've checked all drafts inboxes of all 3 of my Gmail accounts on my iPhone, computer (stupid but worth checking), going into Photos to see if it magically re-appears...

CAVEAT: I'm going to check other posts and if I find the answer I'll delete this post.

Try going back into the Photos app and select the photo you were emailing, that should bring it back.

That was the first thing I did. I'm pretty techy so tried all the basics.
