On my BlackBerry Bold, I would get an email INSTANTLY. If I sent an email to myself (from my phone to my yahoo account, for example), the email would appear 100% right away. On the iPhone, that does not appear to be happening.

Basically, emails on the BlackBerry came right away and without me having to actually push the 'email' button for it to refresh... Kind of like text messages do. How do I do this on my iPhone 4S? It's kind of annoying because I REALLY rely on email a lot, and I need for the phone to get emails right away and do it on it's on.

I have all push notifications set to 'on', what else can I do?

I have one yahoo, gmail and a school email. I do not get instant emails and it seems it only refreshes when I click on the 'mail' icon. I want it to refresh instantly and by itself.

I'm guessing this is not possible, or have I just not figured out how to do it yet?

Ok, for Yahoo, here is a troubleshooting site:

For Gmail on the iPhone, you need to set it up as an Exchange account to receive instant push emails (I've use Gmail on my phone and this works well, the only downside is when you "Delete" something on your iPhone mail app from Gmail, Google only archives it):

As for your school email, I'm afraid I can't help you there. Hopefully those links will help solve your problem.

I have no idea about Yahoo. Maybe search for a similar fix (if there is one.)

EDIT: Whoops, zachimal beat me to it by a few seconds.

I have my school email already set up as an exchange account. Thanks for the troubleshooting tips. I really LOVE this phone, it's is on a different planet than my BlackBerry Bold 9700. But the email is something I already miss.
