Embedded Video Not Working on 3GS/3.0

Hello all,

I am having trouble playing any embedded videos in safari on my new 3GS. This could be a 3.0 bug or a 3GS bug, im not sure as my 2G is on 2.2.1 and that still works fine (can't upgrage the 2G to 3.0 yet to test if its hardware or software). I have attached the following to show the problem:



Left shows what happens on my 3GS when trying to view a video, right shows the same link working on my 2G on 2.2.1




Left shows BBC iplayer on the 3GS, right show the same page on the 2G on 2.2.1 (notice the play icon is working on the old model).


Is anyone else having this issue?? Is it a bug? I would post a link to websites to test but i dont know any appropriate ones. Try iPlayer Mobile if you are in the UK.

Oh yeah, both were done around the same time, on the same wifi network!

Ok so i just tested it on the apple web site, same results. I browsed to http://www.apple.com/iphone/guidedtour/ on my 2G and 3GS. Here are the results (left 2G right 3GS)




I can't be the only one frustrated by this can I??

oh dear! perhaps its O2 then?

Nah im on wifi, so are both phones. Hmmmm. My phone must be chuffed then

Could be. I would try all the typical restart/restore/etc steps.

OK it works after a restore through itunes. Just need to see if it works after restoring the backup

ok so i restored the backup, its not working again. could it be a setting somewhere?

Ok so I had "plugins" turned off in settings. Dunno how. Doh'
