I am going to buy either the 20" or 24" mac:) . It looks like the only difference is in the video card and the size of the monitor.

Which one should I buy. I don't mind spending the extra money if it is worth it.

Thanks
Patrick

If you "Don't mind spending the money"...I think everyone would say go with the 24 inch, unless space is an issue.

Um, I suspect you can get an iMac at the store with a better video card and the 20" screen size (if they have the configuration in stock). The question is, are you really going to need that much space? If not...then save your money for software or something and go with the 20" with a higher spec graphics card.

I don't know what size you are used to working with but a 24" is amazing! Even a 20" will look nice if you used to a 15" But if you have the money I would go with the 24"

Thats a good point. You may want to save the money and upgrade the video card and still have more money in your pocket. What will you be using it for?

Also, $400 is a fair enough amount of money (I wouldn't mind having it in my pocket), that you could buy more RAM, a bigger hard drive, and Microsoft Office or some other application you either need or think you may need.

The 24inch is so massive.

My friend just got one. I used it for about an hour, and couldn't stop saying to myself "god this screen is huge."

So if you are looking for something that will impress your friends and have people secretly considering selling their current machines to buy one, I would go with the 24inch.

Hahahaha.:p

I bought my 20" iMac before the 24" came out, and am perfectly happy with it. That said, while I don't care much about the upgrade to Core 2 Duo, I would have loved to have been able to get a 24" iMac. So, another vote for the 24".

Yet another vote for the 24" as long as money is no object and you can fit it on your desk.

Like mduser63 I have a smaller Core Duo iMac that suits its purposes just fine despite the slower CPU... Even the 20" would look too big in our family room...

Thanks for the replys

I forgot to say I am buying it at the Navy Exchange so I have to take what is installed. :( I cannot change the video card. I think I will go with the 24". Thanks again.

I bought the 24"

I bought the 24" iMAC online for $2149 with a $150 rebate. It has 2 GB RAM.:) :) :)

I can't wait to get it.
Thanks for all the advice. Now I have to learn how to use it. (ex Windows user:mad: )
