Is there a shortcut to bring up emoticons on my Macbook Pro?

What Mac OS X version do you use then and where do you want to bring up those emoticons anyway? A little bit (or even more than that) more specificity can help you tremendously in us helping you.

I am using Mountain Lion, just looking to use emoticons on like Twitter and Facebook.

And how do you use Twitter and Facebook then? Do they not have their own set of emoticons you can use via the usual abbreviations like ;) for and such? If you use some emoticon app, those emoticons might not translate properly if you just us a www browser.
