Empty Data folders in bootcamp

Hi all,
I've installed bootcamp on my macbook air A1439. I copied all data from the old windows laptop. (windows 10 Pro 64 bit) onto a USB.
I then selected all files and copied and pasted to the mac. The problem is all the folders copied across but the files inside didn't. All folders are empty.
How do I transfer the data from pc to mac?
