I've (finally) decided to completely switch over to aperture and not use iPhoto at all. I've turned on photo stream, imported all of my photos etc but I cannot just delete all of my events in iPhoto because I've shared some photos on facebook and it will delete those as well. The only reason I'm emptying my iPhoto library is to save space because I have a lot of photos... so what should I do?

Why not share them from within Aperture instead?

Aperture>Preferences>Web>"+">select the facebook option

Actually that worked... thanks! I can now delete my files in iPhoto and now have an empty library.

Actually that worked... thanks! I also needed to log into Facebook via iPhoto and then it let me delete my iPhoto library without problem.
