iOS emulate GLPaint demo project in Quartz

Hello all i am trying basically trying to emulate what the GLPaint demo project is doing but in a very simple manner, basically all i want to do is emulate a paint brush just using quartz just a couple of pixels wide in a solid color, any ideas
