I have read that doing the 5,1 firmware hack enables the audio over HDMI/displayport, but I cannot seem to make this work. I currently have a 760 GTX card installed, and nothing shows up as far as audio from the card. Is there something else that needs to be done in order to enable this?

I can't use HDMI since my monitor runs at 3440x1440 and HDMI won't support that at 60hz. Any help would be appreciated!

The 5,1 firmware just give your Mac the ability to do that. You still need to install the driver in order to make it work.

This driver is universal for both display port audio and HDMI audio.
