Enable iMac Mirroring from iPhone

I'd love to be able to be sitting on my couch with my Apple TV hooked up to my TV and use my iPhone to tell my iMac to start mirroring to the AppleTV. Anyone got any ideas on if this is possible outside of a VNC app? If there's no way to do it without a VNC app can anyone recommend a good one?
