Enable service in Microsoft applications

I downloaded a handy little app called OmniDictionary (www.omnigroup.com) that connects to the dict server to look up word definitions. It adds the "Define in OmniDictionary" service to the services submenu, which looks up the definition for a word that you select in whatever application (Safari, TextEdit...) . However, the service is disabled in MSN Messenger and Word 2004. Is there a way to enable it?

Edit: I realize the lack of support for services is because they are Carbon apps. I guess it isn't possible, is it?
