Hi all,
First post and a noob Mac owner (well, actually, back in the '80s I had a Mac 512, but that's another story).
I have a D-Link DPR-1260 print server connected to an HP LaserJet 1100. I am able to successfully print to it from a Windows PC (the print server hosts an installation script that essentially sets up a printer port in the Windows network settings). The printer setup script is Windows specific, so I need to manually setup the printer on the Mac.
I did some searching and found some semi-helpful tips, which I tried verbatim and with modifications. I can access the network printer setup dialogue, but a variety of selections and entries does not result in success. I can get the printer to print garbage mostly, one time it printed the test page but it printed twice and was followed by two pages of garbage. I've tried all the protocols, designation of the printer by IP address alone and IP+PORT#, etc...
Anyone have a definite way to implement a network printer on a Mac?
Thanks,
Chris
