Hi,

Do you know any good alternative (free or commercial) to Filevault to encrypt some directories (like email, address book, calendar, your documents, etc) but leaving the other dirs in a normal state? The performance impact of filevault makes using it it impossible for me.

what? I'm getting a 6% read/write speed reduction from filevault, its nothing.

You could use a pwd protected sparse image,some info here:

this is what i do for my external - 256bit aes
