encryption app

I need to encrypt about 500 megs of data. What options do I have as a GUI app?

You can make an encrypted disk image in Disk Utility. 256-bit encryption. If that doesn't suit your needs, be more specific about how you intend to use it.

DU does 128. I just need something like PGP that will let me do AES-256. I need to store some documents that I don't need broken in to. I want to use DU's encryption scheme then on top of that another with a separate passwd.

You're right, my bad.

EDIT: Looks like all the apps I can find only do 128 as well. Hope somebody else knows of something to help you out.

I don't think it's advisable to make a post on a public forum saying you haven't yet found encryption, and you need to encrypt something sensitive enough that 128 bit encryption isnt good enough

You already seem to know what you want. There's an openPGP implementation available for OS X. That should be what you're looking for.

In a word, yes. However, all encryptions become weaker with age.
