iOS encryption formats

Dear All,

I am again not clear about one thing which is not clear from the descriptions.

I am asked to find out all the encryption formats supported in iphone. I need to explore both encryption in transit and for stored data.

I got to read certificates and key references, but i could not find the formats supported.

can anybody please guide me finding these. Can any of the open standard encryptions available can be ported to iphone ?
