iPhone 17 Pro Max Ended up switching from Deep Blue to a Silver 17PM (with black case). Anyone else out there rocking this color combination?

To start with almost all of my tech was either black / grey or covered in a black case:

• Black Apple Watch Series 10
• Space Grey iPad Pro 13’ with black magic keyboard
• AirPods Pro 2 in a black case
• Space Grey 13PM with a black case
• Not to mention my clothing, ring, backpack, etc is almost all grey or black

So at first when I was thinking about upgrading to the 17 Pro Max, I was a bit upset at the lack of a black or grey option 😄

The Silver version (with its bright white back plate) wasn’t even a consideration as it just looked too different from my other tech. I thought “so if there isn’t a black / grey option I’ll go with the next darkest color, Deep Blue.” I paired the Deep Blue PM with the blue TechWoven case which looked fantastic together initially.

But over time I kept having that nagging feeling in the back of my head that I really wanted the look of a “black iPhone” on a 17 Pro Max and for me a black case pairs much better with the Silver than the Deep Blue. I should have realized it before but it finally clicked for me that a black case, just like with my AirPods Pro 2, would also completely cover that bright white back plate so I knew I had to switch.

The combination of Silver with a black case looks fantastic and I finally got the look of an iPhone that I wanted all along. The other colors look great as well and I’m glad they’re available to those who want them, but for me the Silver with black case combo looks extremely classy 🤌🏻

Does anyone else out there feel the same way and are rocking this color combination? 🙂

It looks awesome, nice and clean.

I for some reason have liked the “Panda” look since my 1st 15 Pro Max which was White Titanium, I usually used to get Graphite/Black/Grey but with 15 PM I loved the white one and put it with a case that is partial black and clear. That 15 PM got stolen 10 months in and all I could find to replace it was Black Titanium, so rocked that for middle of last year until this year.

Decided the 17 Pro Max also needs to be Silver and again wanted the “Panda look”.
It’s not for everyone but I love it.

Got this ZAGG case and it has been perfect for me.

With the Rokform crystal case, the silver is formidable. But there's something about the dark blue and orange that just have more pizazz when opposite a contrasting case color. Which is saying something as the silver look is genuinely fantastic.

Started liking the orange, but grew out of that after a few days and went with the blue. Silver was not to my liking anymore after having it for a few years with my other iPhones.

Still keeping Deep Blue 17 Pro max. Blue is my #1 favorite color so it is either Blue or Black. Silver and CO is not an option for me.

I’m happy with my orange Pro Max, but I have to tell you - I got the silver Pro Max and you are so right. It looks so clean! I had it in the blue silicone case it and it looked SO GOOD. I returned the silver but it’s such a good choice for a clean color.

That new tech woven case looks great. I can't get onboard with the silver phone though sorry. I find the silver/white offering every year to be so boring and blah.... I made the mistake of buying silver for the 14PM and regretted it all year.... I had major color envy and wished I had gone with the cooler purple. This year especially the silver just looks cheap with the aluminum.

yeah I'm between blue and orange. gf has silver and it looks terrible and cheap, as you said.

I like how Silver looks with the cases (most of them) however I'm loving my Deep Blue which looks amazing on daylight.

I did the same. Had the Deep Blue but have always been a black on black device type person. With no black iPhone 17 Pro Max and blue not being favorite, went with the Silver with a Black Leather Bullstrap case. Loving the look and feel of it.
