Endless Loop after installing Leopard

I have upgraded my macbook to leopard. I checked for updates, downloaded the ones available, the last one was an update for Mac O X and Quicktime... it has already downloaded and asks me to reboot, I do but when I log in again, it does nothing.... I then check for any update and finds the same ones, and again ask me to reboot.... I reboot but nothing happens then... the loop goes on and on, and on, and on..... what can I do??

Downgrade to a proven operating system until Apple works the bugs out of Leopard?

and how come my new Aluminum iMac had no problems when I did the upgrade?

Should I go back to tiger and try updating again?
