Hey Everyone!

Does anyone have any idea why my computer wakes up at mid-night and when I try to change the energy saver preferences they wont stay. I close the lock but they revert back to 12:00 Am and then my comp starts up oh-tamatically (I hate how Steve says that!) Anywho, can any of you help? I am running the lastest Panther update, I have fixed the permissions and have trashed my energy saver preferences. None of this has helped!

getting energy settings to stick

hi daner3
I had the same problem and for month have been trying to fix it.
I finally got the fix.
1 - make sure system preferences is off.
2 - delete the powermanagement plist in library/preferences/systemsconfiguration.
3 - shut down
4 - reset your power management botton inside your computer (firmly press it for a couple of seconds.
5 - restart
6 - set your time and date preferences
7 - redo your energy saver settings the way you like them
8 - all should be well now.
if you are the administrator the preference panel is left unlocked by default.
Even if you lock it your settings should keep, but if they don't, leave it unlocked and your settings should stay.
Let me know if this worked for you.
I'm curious
