Energy Savings Preference/Light Switch Icon....

First of all, reading through the threads and posts has been most illuminating and helpful. Thank you all. However, I did not recognize anything that would help me with my current problem.

For whatever reason, my Energy Saving Preferences has disappeared completely from my MBP. I wondered if it had anything to do with installing SMCfancontrol so I removed that, verified repaired all permissions, reset PRAM...all of the "normal" suggestions have been tried. There is no sign ever that I had Energy Saving anything. Even if I click on the battery icon and click Energy Saver Pref....nothing happens.
Keep in mind I am not a computer guru, but I can follow directions.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Yes that is correct and it is Leopard 10.5.6.

All tests and repairs resulted in nothing found.

It is like Energy Saver Prefs just went on vacation and left no forwarding address. Not even the light switch icon exists in System Prefs.
