Engaged/callback tone through main speaker

When I phone someone, audio comes through earpiece as expected. When the line is engaged, audio then comes through the main speaker.

Why? Is there an option so that I hear the engaged tone through my ear and not disturb everyone else in the room?!
 
You are saying that when you call someone and their line is busy then the busy tone/signal starts coming through the main speaker?
 
Is Wi-Fi calling involved in any of that, or just regular calls through the mobile carrier?
 
At the time, wi-if calling yes.
Thy said, I recall my 5 doing the same but that didn't have wifi calling.
