Probably, since the engraving simulator lets you put it in.

But why would you want your iPod to look MORE like a counterfeit some relative picked up in a Chinese market?

I wanted Japanese,

but the answer is NO, you cannot.

The simulator is practically useless, you have to click on the green ACCEPT button to get the answer.

The engraver is LIMITED to THE country you are ordering in. I can choose France, but it is limited to just that French characters. US is English, Japan and Japanese and "romangi"

Amazingly limited! Its like Windows, there is a LOT of characters on cannot use!
:(

I don't understand why. It seems ridiculous.

Even though characters would be cool, I guess English will have to do. :(

Yeah. I wanted to put some hearts and music notes and peace signs on mine, but nooo.

I should seriously suggest that they let us do symbols.

My old iPod touch 3rd Gen had a Chinese quote by Confucius engraved.

I live in HK so I ordered from the Hong Kong Apple Online Store. Resale was dramatically affected of course, but I can confirm that character-based languages are supported in at least some countries.

Yes, that is what I followed up with.

For the country you are ordering in, you have full range.
But if want message in another language, you are SOL.
