Enlarging the partition without re-installing . . . ?

Is there any way to do this, using the AppleCare disk, or the Restore disk, or *nix? I have about 10GB free on my computer now that I deleted a partition, and want to give OSX access. Any ideas? Has anyone done this? I had no problem shrinking it without re-installing (using linux and gparted), but can't find a solution

I have an iBook G4 with 10.3.9

hi

the easy was would be to format the empty partition... If you insist on merging with an existing partition, I'd suggest you remove the hard disk from the laptop, take it to a PC with Partition Magic and do the merging from there.
