i never went the route of jailbreaking my iPhone (and have since given it to my wife), but might go that route with the iPad. So a question for experienced jailbreakers as far as what to expect if I go that route:

  • Where do you get apps?
  • Can you still download iTunes Store apps?

etc.

It comes with it's own app store called "Cydia" Has free and paid apps.

Yes, you can still download from iTunes.

There is an iPhone Hacks section of this site. Go there.

I never used to do it. I did it on my phone for MyWi. There are other apps out there that Apple will not allow on the App store. Some are free, others like MyWi are not. I've not really downloaded much outside the app store, so I can say there is a big incentive to jailbreak the iPad just yet.

i believe the OP is trying to get feedback on his iPad...and i believe if he would of posted in the IPHONE hacks forum, he would be beaten out of there. and since there is no iPad hacks forum yet, he posted in the closest thing to it. relax.

He asked general JB questions which can all be answered in that forum. I'm not excited and I didn't insult him, I just told him where to go for the info.
