Enough space for IOS 8?

I have a 16GB iPhone 5S with 1.5GB available space. I saw a post that said I needed 5GB. Who has a 16GB iPhone with 5GB available. Is this the case?

Saw a post that said use iTunes to install. I would do it that way, so is 1.5GB enough space if I use iTunes?

I tried it and iTunes gives me a 3014 error.
