Enter key to confirm spotlight search not working

Hi, ever since Ventura this has been happening quite often on my both my M1 laptops (even on the sonoma betas). Basically when confirming a search with Enter I just get the "error sound" and nothing happens. I have to click on the search result with a mouse to open.

Anyone else?

For me spotlight works when searching, but searching in a Finder window doesn't, even if I've opened the folder itself and there are like 2 items in it.

In 50 years of using a computer, I've never used one where the finder could not find a file - isn't that what it is named for?

Clearly the quality of apple's products continues to decline under the putrid leadership of the accountant Cookie, who would not know what quality, innovation or creativity were if they landed on him.
