Enter your password to set up iCloud and nothing ever happens?

Using Catalina, I have a notification in the upper right corner asking me to update my iCloud info. I click on it and it brings me to the Apple ID window of settings and I enter my iCloud password, an it seems to take it and then the password window pops right back up again and the notification pops up again. Anyone have any ideas how to correct this?
