Entire top bar displaying name disappearing in Messages?

The entire top bar that displays the person's name in a conversation as well as "Messages" "edit" and the small box and pencil for starting a new message in the list of conversations keep sporadically disappearing.

I then am unable to see their name at the top or use the features in the bar. I have to close Messages out in the app switcher and relaunch it to get it to reappear. Any idea what might be causing this?

Yeah, next time it disappears. It usually happens at least once a day.

Seems like a visual bug/glitch of some sort.
