Entourage 2004 hanging

I have Entourage 2004 running on a Core 2 duo laptop with OS X 10.4, this is a MS Exchange 2003 environment. The issue is that every week or two Entourage will freeze after 2-3 minutes of use, this happens every time Entourage is opened after the freezing begins. The only fix is to rebuild the database, but it is a temporary one as the problem keeps resurfacing. Any ideas how I can fix this permanently?
