Entourage 2004, messages missing from folders

I'm still running Entourage '04 and have run into a problem. I have several rules setup that move various messages into folders. Several of the folders have all of sudden stopped displaying any messages when I click on the folder. This is not across the board but only a few folders with the problem. If I do a right click and do a Find, I can find and display the respective messages.

I did an integrity check on the database and that was fine.

Thoughts or suggestions?

A little update.

When I switch my preview pane to on the right instead of bottom everything shows up in the folders.
